Summer Term Update

The school continues to be a vibrant community with much going on to exceed and excel expectations.  This term I have been meeting the School Council during lunchtime and I have been astonished by their insight and perspective on school matters.  Their ideas have been shared with SLT and staff.

Our pupils never cease to rise to the challenge and once again I would like to thank staff and parents for supporting so well all those pupils engaged with testing this term.  Much has been said in the media about schools applying pressure on young children regarding testing and to this end we firmly keep a child friendly focus in all we do.

We continue to develop our creative curriculum and provide enrichment to our pupils educational experience.  Next term we shall be visiting the Outdoor Activity Centre in Harlow, White Water Rafting facility in Waltham Abbey, alongside cricket, athletics, class trips and clubs.  A wide array!

At the start of next term, we shall be saying goodbye to Miss Kaberis. She has been an energetic member of staff who has forged links to many staff and pupils.  We have been incredibly lucky in recruiting two additional members of support staff. I very much looking forward to introducing them to you in the next newsletter.

Parent Workshops

Staff have been engaged in various training events this term, and we would like to share the content with parents next half term.  The dates and themes are listed below:

Online Safety Workshop – Friday 21st June, 9 am.

Mental Health Awareness – Top Tips – Friday 28th June, 9.30 am.

Please come along. Refreshments will be provided and the session will last roughly half an hour.

All parents have access to the School Gateway, to allow payments to be made for Dinner Money and other fees, eg trips etc.  If you are having difficulty in using the Gateway, please check your details with the school office.  Inline with the school policy and as a duty of care, we do not want parents to unwillingly develop a large debt.  The office staff will contact all families once a two week period has passed.  If payment is unable to be made, then the school will not be able to provide a lunchtime meal.  Your assistance in this matter is greatly appreciated.

Grow Club / Wildlife Area

If you are able to offer a few hours support, please contact the school.    The area has already been cleared, thanks to Carol Golding and Andrew Zwane so we are ready to begin the planting season.

Diary Dates

Sports Day – Wednesday 10th July, Morning only.

End of Term – Friday 19th July, School will finish at 1.30pm
