I hope that you and your families are all safe and well with lots of fun family time being shared by you all.
A sunny and warm return to school for the beginning of what will be the strangest summer term in living memory. We are still in the government advised lockdown but Four Swannes is still open and ticking over, looking after the children of our key workers.
We really appreciate what you are doing too. Our teachers are busy working from home, where possible, and in many cases also juggling with the home learning for their own children. In my personal case, one GCSE son and two degree level daughters, which has been interesting! Thank you to all the teaching team for doing what they can to make learning opportunities accessible for your children.
I do appreciate that it is difficult to deliver the best learning opportunities to your children. There is a high level of support and advice out there to help in the delivery of this and I thought that I would share an example of this with you. https://www.parentkind.org.uk/blog/10567/Supporting-learning-not-home-schooling
We will continue to set work as before. We understand how difficult it will be getting back into routines- in fact it is for all of us after any holiday, but we need to persist and establish boundaries, goals and return to a rhythm again. This will help in the longer term, both physically and mentally.
Mrs Jones and I are constantly being updated with the latest information from the government and local authorities with regard to many aspects that you may also be considering, such as, end of year reports, secondary school transition for Year 6 and, more importantly, when and if we will re-open this academic year. We can assure that we will update you as soon as we have any concrete decisions on this.
Please stay safe, fit and healthy during these challenging times. It is exceptionally important that your children’s learning is maintained as best as possible. Keep checking the school’s website for any latest information and the latest learning opportunities for your children.
