Four Swannes Primary School
Diversity. Inclusion. Belonging
Lateness
School starts promptly at 8.45 am and finishes at 3.15pm. If any child is arriving into school after this time they have to come into school via the school office and be signed in. Any child that arrives in school this way will be marked as late. Any child who arrives after 9.00am will be marked as an unauthorised absence for the morning.
Where there are persistent incidents of lateness parents/carers will receive a letter advising them the school is concerned. The school will provide opportunity for parents/carers to seek support and advice to address any issues.
Absences
Parents/carers should contact the school office on the first day of the child’s absence. Details of why the child is off should be provided.
Failure to notify us of an absence will result in it being recorded as ‘unauthorised.’
Absence due to sickness, unavoidable medical appointments, days of religious observations and family emergencies (i.e. bereavement) will usually be authorised.
Should a child have periods of repeated illness parents/carers will be asked to provide medical evidence for all future illness related absence. This evidence can be a Doctor’s note, appointment card or copy of a prescription.
